Where did it say which tacan channel to use? Did I miss it somewhere in the briefing? I flew the whole mission without it.

Can anyone help me find all the pilot comms? I can't find them listed in the sdef_and_wave.txt file included with the sound mod guide. I want to find all of the PC outgoing comm messages that the pilot makes and replace them with dead/mute files so that when I use voice attack to give an order or talk to the carrier I don't have to listen to my dead-sounding computer voice repeat the things I just said. Thank you to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

If you don't already have a vr device and a vr capable computer then it can get expensive, but there are options at just about every price point from a few hundred dollars to over a thousand. I would recommend that you first decide how much you are willing to spend, and then look at options within that price range to avoid talking yourself into spending more than you can afford. Pros: The immersion, sense of scale, and depth perception cannot be overstated as pros. Since switching to vr, I feel that I would not fly at all if I wasn't able to use vr. Cons: It can be expensive to get started, the computer requirements are quite a bit higher than normal, and reading gauges or smaller instruments can be difficult with the lower overall resolution. So with all that said, what are your current computer specs, and how much are you willing to spend?

I’m interested. I’ve been getting back into dcs after a long hiatus now that they finally have a good multi-role platform and have been flying the f18 for about a month now. Thinking about getting into the f14 as well. I fly with vr and am available most nights after 8/8:30 pm eastern time (I’m in america). I used to fly with the 51st years ago, but challenges meeting their time requirements made me decide to give it up. They fly mostly on a European time block which translates to 2-3pm est while I am still at work. I’d like to meet you guys and see if we get along before deciding to join though. I’ll look into it some more tonight after I get off work and see if I can catch a few of you online.

Semi-related note: So I've been away from DCS since 2010, just waiting for a fast mover with the fidelity of the 10C to be released. I recently found out about the F18 being released **soon** and decided to give it another shot. I've only had my hotas out of storage for about a week. The actual question: My wife got me an oculus rift for my birthday (a few days ago), so I decided to give it a go with the A10C. Once I finally figured out how to get into the game, I loaded up a quick mission in the A10 to see if I could remember how to start the damn thing. I immediately noticed two large clunky leather-gloved hands in front of me. It took me a second to figure them out, but they apparently mirror my oculus touch controllers...except backwards and upside-down. Is there a way to fix their orientation? Can I actually do anything with them once I've fixed the orientation? Can I fly the jet and flick switches and all that with them instead of using my hotas (which is rather dated nowadays)? I searched the forums and googled but couldn't turn anything up about it. TL : DR - Oculus touch controllers: do they do anything except give me weird backwards upside-down leather gloves that float directly in my field of view?

Agreed! I work on these and they are definitely bad-@$$. Two-million flight hours and over seven-hundred-thousand in combat: Suck it, Apaches! (and it MUST be the D® version. I demand it! j/k)

I wont bother mastering a DCS plane until I have someone to fight against besides dumb ground targets. Until then DCS is just a fun weekend sim.

I miss freespace2. Miss the online competitions too. Played with the angels and freedom-fighters....Loooong time ago.

Playing the training missions last night...Then the instructor told me to "strike down with great vengeance and furious anger" and I had a Pulp Fiction flash-back. I soo wish it was Samuel L. Jackson. Because it sounds just like him. That would be pretty bad@ss. He's a "mushroom-cloud-laying-mother-f#($er, mother-f#($er!"

At least you all have been able to contact the jtac. I set my radio to the correct frequency and get no response no matter how long I wait...

I don't even bother with dumb bombs anymore. It's not like I'm wasting taxpayer money by only dropping LGBs and GBUs so I tend to load up with however many GBU-38s I need and just use them instead of dumb bombs. Unless they do something to "fix" CCRP then why bother?

The mysterious and ever-deadly WEAPON X! Don't listen to GG. He's attempting to mislead you as to the extremely powerfull weapon available only to the select few who have managed to fly over 1,000 hours in the game. The weapon has a 100% pk and will hit any target you want without even having to find the target with sensors first. It READS YOUR MIND, MAN! GG is trying to cover it up, but I KNOW! It's a government conspiracy! I'm not crazy! I'm not! *Being dragged away by loony-bin people* It's a real weapon! I read so on wikipedia! I'm not craaaaaaazy! LoL...

Probably won't get additional training missions until it goes gold...Probably not high on their priority list right now...But we can always hope...

Watching the engines spool up from the cockpit gives me that "ready to kick @**/take names" feeling. (The engines themselves, not the gauges.)

If you post a track of what you're doing someone will probably be able to help you out with some accuracy instead of guessing what you might not be doing right...

I've used the TPG to set SPI on non-moving targets and then slaved the CCRP cursor to the SPI and the bombs always fall short. It's probably WIP. Using CCRP for moving targets is probably a no-go regardless...

Wish I could just buy the throttle *grumble-grumble*... I've already got a cougar and I don't see much difference in the stick and as far as sensors go I haven't had any problems with the cougar... Maybe my cougar will have an "accident" like my saitek did...

Same here. And the targeting cursor for the tgp kept disappearing from my hud when I switch to a2a mode.
