It just depicts the stations from left to right (as you're looking straight ahead out of the cockpit) as top to bottom. It's like the jet is in a right-hand bank.

The trick is in actually remembering whether left-to-right = top-down or the other way around!

 

My brain always forgets.

 

I will use your "right-bank" = "the right way" as a mnemonic ..
