What is the possibility that could be archive in visual term, if I upgrade my current system... say Q6600 (oc to 3Ghz) + 8800GT + 2Gb.

I have a similar setup. With those specs you should be able to run it with all settings on the highest.

I have a similar set up now, but with 4 gigs of ram. I run the sim with everything all the way up. With not bothering to do any graphics or FPS tweaks (meaning just using the default "high" settings) I get a steady 25-30 fps at medium to low altitudes and much higher ones at high altitude. The lowest I get is around 15 over a really, really big city. If I did some tweaking, I could get better.
