Alpiinoo Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 Hello everyone, I'll talk about a feature that I think will increase the realism of the simulator. Feature is this, In real life the Navy uses white bombs(Mk's, GBU's). These are called BLU. If we go back to the simulator, the bombs(GBU'S, Mk's) in the model viewer have a white texture on the 57th Argument. It would be great if we could add them to loadout or as a custom argument to aircraft liveries. But when the bomb relases it should stay white. This is my request from ED Team. Thank you for your interest. Regards, Alpiinoo 1
Northstar98 Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 +1 I imagine they'll be implemented shortly, given that we now have the naval variants of the GBU-31 FWIW BLU just stands for Bomb Live Unit as far as I know. For instance on naval Mk82s they'll use the BLU-111A/B which has that white/grey ablative thermal coating. Another variant is the BLU-111/B which a standard Mk82 with a less sensitive filler. Dragon1-1 Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 Yeah, BLU is a designation for a specific bomb variant, generally speaking. Navy ones, in particular, are insulated, to increase the time it takes them to cook off if they end up in a fire. That's what the gray coating is.
