ALISEIFABF Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 Hi there, Recently, an idea has found its way into my mind with the agenda of using specialized monitors to cover walls of the room and have a big 3D cockpit for DCS World. Does anybody have any idea if this is plausible with current gadgets in the market or not? Also support which is built-in would be needed on the DCS World side. Thank you for sharing.
Mars Exulte Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 Well I used triple 27'' monitors for a time to provide ultra-ultra wide FoV (stiched together as a single screen). It was ok, but generally underwhelming. As for trying to ''create a room'' yes, you can, but the biggest problem is that doing so requires multiple in game cameras (ie viewpoints) which literally means rendering the game multiple times for each camera, same basic reason VR is so demanding: it's rendering the game twice for two closely positioned ''cameras'', namely your right and left eye. So, is it possible? Yes. It's going to be a slideshow most likely though due to how much rendering is going on, and it will be a major ass pain to rig all the cameras up correctly. So, armed thusly... go ye forth. Де вороги, знайдуться козаки їх перемогти. 5800x3d * 3090 * 64gb * Reverb G2
