Flagrum Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 A very broadly used feature here was to use links to other postings to point the reader to similar topics, related content, etc. Help requests were linked to already posted answers, bug reports to already found solutions, and so on. These links were just the respective URL of a posting, copy and pasted into the editor, of the form https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=nnnn ALL these links were not converted during the forum migration, as it seems! They are now all dead links! A massive amount of information is now lost. I hope this can still be corrected...
netizensmith Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 (edited) Additionally loads of things (everything?) external to the forum that used to link to forum posts here no longer work. This is an absolute nightmare as tons of things point to this forum as explanations on how things work, where to find info, where to find mods etc. It's not an exaggeration to say that support for the DCS community has been massively compromised by whatever change to the forum has caused this. As an example everything in the Hoggit wiki on Reddit - https://wiki.hoggitworld.com/view/Hoggit_DCS_World_Wiki - is now broken. Edited December 10, 2020 by netizensmith
ED Team const Posted December 10, 2020 ED Team Posted December 10, 2020 Unfortunately, yes, old links were lost. This issue was known before migration was started and we assumed this will happen, but we will try to find out a solution for old links.
frynskat Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 (edited) As a newbie to DCS this issue is MASSIVE. Trying to search for information or issues are now dysfunctional using google if it is pointed to content on the forum. Biggest single issue for DCS. Edited December 13, 2020 by frynskat
ED Team const Posted December 13, 2020 ED Team Posted December 13, 2020 We are trying to find a solution, thank you 2
ED Team const Posted December 15, 2020 ED Team Posted December 15, 2020 All old posts and topic links will redirect now to new.
