These slots are used for the closest airfields to your last waypoint. However, sometimes I'm trying to land nowhere near my last waypoint. What if I created an overfly mark point, then pasted that as my final steer point? Would that dynamically update the coordinates for 50-58? Or, is 50-58 hardcoded when the DTC is created?

They are preloaded via the DTC, they can not be changed in flight. DST 59 is changeable. What you could do is edit the values of DST 59 to the airport you are trying to land at.

Will this update and load the approaches availabe for that airfield closest to the coordinates that we enter ? I am guessing not.?
