Imo the hud flir still needs some work but that might have something to do with how flir works in general / ED’s responsibility, at least the whole of the hud is now used - nvg’s are still the goto sensor for flying through difficult terrain. SGT Coyle Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 Flying Night missions has gotten much better, there are some improvements that need to done. Instrument Panel and Console lighting appears to to 50 - 100% intensity. I say appears, because lighting turns off at less than 50% of knob range. The Moving Map is still way to bright even in night mode on the MPC, but I understand that upcoming changes to how ED handles MFDs is going to help that. I have hope for that. Just turning off the MAP helps 100%. The FLIR thing is tough. The sky and water are way to bright and I'm not sure how to get an adjustment that doesn't destroy terrain detail. Would turning on shadows help? I'll give that a try. I hope everyone has a good holiday. Night Ops in the Harrier IYAOYAS
