SuperKungFu Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 this is the way I did it on my X-52 I mapped the picky button as ctrl and you know how there's two POV hats on your stick? The top one, I mapped it to have these keys (;,./) which is to move the TD box up down left right therefore, you can use the TD box AND once you press ctrl - you now have trim So you utilize your combo keys. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

badaboom Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 WOW,That's a fantastic idea!! keeping comon buttons for 2 diffrent functions is nice, especaily when your memory is as bad as mine!! Care to share the rest of your profile SK? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
SuperKungFu Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 Yea sure, I attached my profile below. (this profile is for the new Saitek SD6 Profiles) It is also for the X-52 (non pro) You really have to go through it and look at the keys to see what types of combo is possible. This is possible since I added the ctrl, shift, and alt and they stay consistent with all three modes. Here's just a basic rundown of what my profile is like: Mode 1: NAV Mode 2: AG Mode 3: AA So like I said, if you study the profile and know what each key does, you can use the combos. For exampleone of the keys is simply mapped as lights (L), but if you press the pinkie button (ctrl) and hit the lights key then you also turn on your external lights. Same thing with R, press that key- opens refueling boom, but use ctrl with it, you can dump fuel or refuel- depending where you are. W- usually use as wheel brakes, press ctrl with it, you can drop weapons, or reload (again depending where you are). If you press alt and W, that's manual permission override C- usually switches to guns, but on the ground, you can press ctrl and it opens canopy G- gears, but if you press the alt button and G, then the arrest hook comes down. Also, you will notice the scroll wheel in on the throttle, go up that is pressing [home], so if you press shift [home] and alt [home] you turn on your engines. So there's a lot of combos going on- there's no sense in dedicating one button to each function. While on the subject of the scroll wheel, it is also a button which is pressing [P], so you can either use it as a DRG chute or press ctrl and fold up your wings in the Su-33. :DThat's all i can think off of the top of my head, if you really look through it then you can understand what I've done. cheers and I hope this helps.Lock On.zip 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
littlejohn1959 Posted June 8, 2008 Author Posted June 8, 2008 skf , i just gave the a-10 a run with that profile , man , its awesome . good idea indeed . on my throttle , i have the ZOOM on my slider . there is also 2 rotory dials there , inside the e and i fire buttons . got any ideas for those? i am getting to like this stick , alot . again , thanks for that tip with the pinkie ctrl . it works like a charm . cheers again . badaboom Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 SK,Thank You,I downloaded and will check it out. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
SuperKungFu Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 The slider, i also put it as zoom - haha great mines think alike. I prefer the slider as the zoom since i don't like to move my head back and forth when I have the TrackIR The 2 rotaries, I mapped them within the lock on option The top one is the MFD zoom (this if very useful for the Su-25T's TV and the A-10's TV) So you can zoom in on your targets and pick them off one by one. It also works well for the flankers' TV so you can see where you are on the map/radar. The bottom rotary is used for the TD box size (i forgot the actual name) but its the one that controls the size of TD box on the Su-25T's TV. So the computer can lock onto its targets better because you are telling it how big the target is. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
littlejohn1959 Posted June 8, 2008 Author Posted June 8, 2008 i cant seem to get it to work . i fly the a-10 alot . i sure would like to be able to zoom in on that t.v screen .and have a go at picking off those targets . take a look at the pic . am i even close to the right settings? cheers . [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
SuperKungFu Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 yea your settings are right, with the A-10 you can't really tell if you are zoomed in or not because it depends on the Mavericks. There's 2 types of Mavericks the D and the K model if you want zoom, you need to be on the D version (the one that relies on heat signature) And even with that, I think there's only 2 types of zoom: 1 normal and i think the second one is 3 times? The zoom function can really be seen on the flankers and the Su-25T. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

hitman Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 The way I have mine set up, I have trim just set to the hat switch. I use the pinky switch as a wingman command. I guess thats the best way to do it if you dont have TrackIr. What I would like to know is if there is a way to get the trim a little bit more precise, cuz I dont like having to trim my a/c up and down repeatedly when Im flying straight and level.
