Dr Zaius Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 Appreciate it took a while to get this feature operational in the first place but I'm having trouble understanding the logic of it’s current operation. I think it may be in units of time (please correct me if I'm wrong) as opposed to distance, carrying out a low level run using a bunch of high drag Mk82’s and on a medium sized convoy a good separation is somewhere between 007 & 012, at no point does it feel like you’ll ever need to go any higher the 020 except perhaps on a runway - that then leaves the question as to what situation one would find themselves in to warrant the use of the first digit interval? Having done some testing it feels like 100 is a second interval between drops which if you think about it is an eternity when flying fast over a target area, Ive a suspicion then that something isn’t quite right. Marsvinet Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 (edited) They are supposed to be in distance in 10's of feet, so 001 is 10 feet interval, 020 is 200 feet and 300 is 3000 feet. So you're right in that the most significant digit might not be the most useful, or at least has a quite limited usage. There has been some bug reports regarding how well this interval actually works, but I can't tell you if it actually is bugged. Just when it comes to snakeeyes, it is good to remember that they are not very precise. They can float around a fair bit from the "precise" calculated impact point. Dr Zaius Posted December 24, 2020 Author Posted December 24, 2020 (edited) Distance did make more sense as the bombing computer will account for the harriers speed on release - I still can't believe the system would allow for a 9990 foot drop though, thats like a 3 kilometer separation! RAZBAM_ELMO Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 It is indeed in units of feet. When entering units into the UFC however, make sure you enter the value without a preceding 0. For instance if you were to want say 20 ft of separation, you would enter 20 and not 020, as the game would see 020 as a quadratic number and give you an incorrect value.
