RvEYoda Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 It can also be useful to get a joystick where you can have a toggle switch that is either stuck in on or off position. Helps so that you wont forget. S = SPARSE(m,n) abbreviates SPARSE([],[],[],m,n,0). This generates the ultimate sparse matrix, an m-by-n all zero matrix. - Matlab help on 'sparse'
S77th-konkussion Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Or set up a script to automatically send a "drop speedbrake" command when full throttle is applied. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
RvEYoda Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Or set up a script to automatically send a "drop speedbrake" command when full throttle is applied. This is really good, think i will use it for some games where my toggle doesn't work like I want it to. thx konkussion! S = SPARSE(m,n) abbreviates SPARSE([],[],[],m,n,0). GGTharos Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 For the F-15, the airbrake is dropped once a certain AoA is exceeded in RL. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
S77th-konkussion Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Thank Ruggbutt. He set it up. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
Alexrey Posted June 18, 2008 Author Posted June 18, 2008 Thanks for the pic Mustang! I have more questions, and since they seem to keep on coming I've decided to change the topic title. :P 4) I've noticed that some people online use AIM-120s and AIM-7s in the same payload. I thought that everyone used only AIM-120s. What's good about the AIM-7 that makes them use it? 5) I remember GGTharos said something about the RWR/RWS not being gyro-stabalised, and that's why the position of the bandit changes positions on the RWR/RWS when you go from a bank to level flight. Would it be easy to fix this problem in the v1.13 patch? It would help so much in close combat situations!
S77th-konkussion Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 (edited) Safety is one reason. Slammers tend to take a mind of their own for no apparent reason in lock on- even after a hard lock. The Sparrows must be guided to termination. Helpful if friendlies are in the area- especially if you are trying to help out a teammate gone defensive. It would suck to kill him because he presents a better target (in lomac's warped missile logic) than the more distant enemy does. RedTiger Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 On top off what Konkussion said, I carry them just for the sake of authenticity. I'm not sure what the current default load for an F-15C is at this point, but I know that in the past it has included 2 Sparrows. As for why the USAF does this, most likely for what Konkussion said and maybe because they're cheaper and more plentiful? I'm not totally sure.
S77th-konkussion Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 I'm not confident that this is true today- but it certainly was the case in the not too distant past. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
GGTharos Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 I believe these days it's six and two (120, 9) ... 7's are now used for live-fire training.
