Bah, downloaded demo... It's totally awesome... You are commander of SS "Columbia" on STS-1 mission. Damn, Earth looks breathtaking from space. WOW!

Fully clickable 2D control panels (like in Falcon 4), TrackIR supported, joystick, throttle, ruder pedals all shabang, yeehaa... Wish you the same... (no TV, no newspapers, no commercials)

Demo only 118 MB, phew... Hey, BS is light year away, nothing to loose, and it's free demo... :D

To infinity and beyond! :pilotfly:

I'm getting full version of this sim. Gonna service HST and build ISS... :P

nonsense :P, it's a beautiful sim, not as good as BS will be, but lots of missions including Hubble Space Telescope service and International Space Station missions. Unless one does not care about the space this is awesome sim. :D You have no idea how many switches there are in Space Shuttle, man... Once you start clicking you never stop... it's like scripting... OMG, and then you have the views... Totally awesome stuff, no one locks on you, very peaceful, To open the cargo bay you have to enter millions of commands...:smartass: And just when was coming back from STS-1, preparing for the final, voice told me: ,- what have you done, you crashed Space Shuttle... My first impression was, that astronauts spends all time with the check lists in the hand clicking millions of switches. Now thats Fun ! :megalol: Still, I'll give another try 2morow. There are lots of spacewalks to come (*got full version of the sim, Yeehaa!)

I like it too man, I always was interested in space exploration, little bit of backyard astronomy, spent couple of winters (talking about English winters here) stargazing via my 4.2" reflector... Very first "star" I've looked at via telescope for my biggest surprise was planet Saturn, that was awesome times... Ah, then Jupiter with 4 biggest moons (was also visible via my tube) Queen of the morning sky Venus, Orion nebulae and so on... Very relaxing hobby... One day I'm getting one of these!

And now, if you excuse me I have to perform some orbit trajectory adjustments for my "Columbia" :pilotfly:

Hey Peyo, my bro and I do (or did actually due to time constraints) some astronomy and astrophotography, I´ve posted a few pics over at Frugals, see here:

http://forums.frugalsworld.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=1463699&postcount=269

They're far from perfect but it's cool to see your "hard work" pay off. Some things I find really funny is watching the sunrise on the moon or the shadows of Jupiter's moons wandering across it's surface.

Those are awesome pics man, I'm glad to know that there are some more stargazers, Rep incoming! Take cover! :D

That was really exiting, Just came back from STS-1. Landing Space Shuttle is like landing fully loaded Su-25T with engines off... Well that was the easy one... I'm very exited. :pilotfly:

Oh no, not him again...

Yes it's me damn it! Shut up! :D

Just got back from STS-8, second Space Shuttle Challenger mission. which originally was carried out on August 30th in 1983... It was 5 days long (took me just two :smilewink: ), and included some difficult tasks, first of which was deployment of Indian communication satellite INSAT-1B and two PFTA (Payload Flight Test Article) manipulation tests with Canadian build RMS (Remote Manipulator System)...

What can I say... Bah, that was really cool, I do like this Sim very much! Well done! Let the screenshots talk... To be Continued...

Had a funny thought while up there at 260 km altitude...

.- Damn, someone is playing LOMAC somewhere under me...

Wish you were there!

If there would be better graphic... :D

Well, You getting spoiled my friend, :P water is not good, Golonka is too fat, graphics are not good enough...

You also must understand that the Sim is 132MB in size ONLY! So... I say, it's totally awesome! But at thr end of the day it's all about simulation. Like Armed Assault for example is eye candy only, but everything else sucks. So, is it ArmA is the "Ultimate Combat Simulation" as the creators claims? Hell no! Space Shuttle rocks my world! :D I'll keep you updated...

STS-41c...

Launched: April 6, 1984 at 8:58:00 a.m. EST

Mission Duration: 6 days, 23 hours, 40 minutes, 7 seconds

Revolution: 108

The first direct ascent trajectory for space shuttle. Using the manned maneuvering unit, astronauts replaced the altitude control system and coronagraph/polarimeter electronics box in the Solar Max satellite:

while it remained in orbit. The Long Duration Exposure Facility (LDEF)

http://www.nasa.gov/images/content/162466main_rms07_S32-85-029_lores.jpg

was deployed, carrying 57 experiments which were left on orbit with an intention of retrieving them during a later mission. Other payloads on this mission were: IMAX camera; Radiation Monitoring Equipment (RME); Cinema 360; Shuttle Student Involvement Program (SSlP) experiment.

In flight refueling in LOMAC is nothing in comparison to catching flying satellite...

Space walk RULEZ! :pilotfly:
