Hello, I am a person that constantly upgrades my hardware. Hard Drives, Video Cards, Processors, Memory, Etc.

I had four activations left, and upgrades from a Core2Duo to a Core2Quad processor and had to reactivate.

Is this normal?

I will be upgrading my video card from an ATI 3870 to the new 4870 in a few weeks....will this also cause me to loose another activation?

Thanks

If you change few of the hardware components the hardware configuration changes too much and starfornce thinks the game is running on different PC so the hardwrae activation key no longer works. In the 2-3 years I bought LockOn i've changed my hardware quite a few times and every time this would happen I needed to use new activation ey. Right now i have 1 left.

What you can and should so is use ED's utility to save registry key and try to reuse it every time you reinstal LockOn. If you just reinstall OS you can reinstall LockOn and this saved regisrty will work and you won'y need to use new activation key... even you change say, video card, it should still work. Only after you change your hardware significantly it will no longer work... and like I said, you will need new activation key... so yeah, this is normal.

Somtimes even different partition setup is enough to trigger

starforce reactivation in my experience, so if you for example

reorganize your harddrives and such, the old saved registry

might not work . =/.

S = SPARSE(m,n) abbreviates SPARSE([],[],[],m,n,0). This generates the ultimate sparse matrix, an m-by-n all zero matrix. - Matlab help on 'sparse'
