Doc3908 Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 Carrier ops with the Wright Flyer are fun but not a challenge. Let's try to put the Flyer down on an oil rig platform... 1
everest101 Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 How the heck did U get a Wright Flyer 3d Model to be usable in DCS World? Some folks truly impress me!!! Nice video & good work...but I can already hear the die hard simmers screaming for lack of realism . MOBO/MSI X570-A PRO/PCIe 4. CPU/AMD RYZEN 9 3900X (12 CORE), RAM/DDR4-32 GB (3200MHZ with XMP activated on the MOBO), GPU/EVGA-RTX 3080Ti, HMD/PIMAX Crystal, HOTAS/Thrustmaster Cougar

Here is the download link from the DCS site: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3314096/?sphrase_id=1005619. To me, finding this mod was a wonderful surprise. It is not easy to fly - but it shouldn't be. I doubt the flight model is very realistic, but the authors have tried to take into account the descriptions of pitch instability that plagued the real Flyer I. However, they did not model one of the most prominent features of the real plane - wing-warping. The DCS mod steers only by rudder and elevator. As this is very early work, I'm sure Grinnelli will continue to improve on their design and delight us with an ever-more realistic simulation of this iconic plane.
No1sonuk Posted July 31, 2021 Posted July 31, 2021 (edited) I have it installed, but I can't figure out how to get to fly the thing. NVM. Sorted it. Edited July 31, 2021 by No1sonuk
