Hi everyone,

I mostly play multiplayer, but recently I’ve been having a crack at the new Operation Reforger campaign. One thing has really stood out to me- the ability to jump between the pilot and RIO seats makes the module much more capable for a one man band. I know work is ongoing on Jester and his capabilities, but obviously he’s never going to be a substitute for a human flicking switches in the back.
That leads me to the question, with the recent changes ED made to the multicrew API with the Huey, is there any chance we could one day see this capability in multiplayer with the F14? Or is it a flat out never?

Even in the Huey the pilot can't switch seats in MP.

DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

Heatblur is working on Jester: LANTIRN as a official type of replacement for the "Pilot LANTIRN" mod but how it will work with the Jester menu is unknown.

Heatblur strives for accuracy and realism with the exception of the LANTIRN as it is impossible to use that part of the Module's experience solo in multiplayer. However everything else is possible to use/experience to some degree with the help of Jester. As such having people being able to freely switch back and fourth is unrealistic and would create an obsolescence for dedicated Human RIOs which Heatblur actually would rather to cultivate and encourage.

So to answer your question, in single player you can choose to experience the aircraft how you wish as well as the fact as its single player you don't have anyone else as an option but within multiplayer Heatblur is committed to creating as realistic experience (with as I've stated, exception to the LANTIRN functionality) as possible, so it is unlikely that even if it became an option in other aircraft such as the Huey ect that Heatblur would allow it within Multiplayer.
