draconus Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 (edited) I upgraded CPU and mobo and went from Win7 to Win10 lately (current system specs in my sig) and got into this strange behavior that it takes 30 seconds for F-14 sounds to load at DCS start every time. I get it from the dcs.log of course. On my older system (G4560/H110/Win7pro64) it took 25 seconds to load DCS from double click to main menu. Now it's exactly 1 minute. Measured both in latest open beta. Edit: today's beta didn't fix it. The system is installed as new from the scratch on the formatted drive. Disk drives are the same. The DCS in on another drive and was not reinstalled but I did full repair just to check. All the benchmarks including disk drives show proper system performance. Tried both default system and newest Intel storage drivers. Mission loading looks fine to me although I have no data to compare. I'm an IT guy and will still dig into it but can't figure it out atm. I put it here so maybe some of you can come up with sth or saw similar behavior. dcs.log Edit: I fixed it by setting Windows Defender folder exclusions for both main DCS and Saved Games\DCS. Back to 20 seconds for a DCS start! Mission loading is way faster too.
