correct as-is Several Litening TGP behaviors I'm not sure are intended or not

Hi

 

1. Startup. FLIR set to on, Litening TGP Enters blank operating mode when warmed up, pressing undesignate once does not enter snowplow mode, must press double to first enter VVSLV and then double again to switch to snowplow mode, some tutorials say it needs one press to enter snowplow mode, but nothing is mentioned in the early access manual. When designated in G.Stab mode pressing once does indeed undesignate and put into Snowplow mode.

 

2. While undesignated, After cycling through Litening TGP modes, ATRK, PTRK, and back to G. Stab. the litening TGP stays stuck and won't be able to slew, in order to get it unstuck one must put it in snowplow or VVSLV mode which ruins the target search and have to start from scratch. Whereas in snowplow mode you can freely slew without designation. (BTW so in RL G.Stab. and S. Plow modes don't have their label indicators either or just missing in DCS?)

 

3. FOV Switch not working when TGP is SOI while MAV or MAVF is selected, instead it changes MAVF FOV on the other MFD that is NOT SOI ??? And with laser MAV i don't know what it does yet, nothing visible.

 

4. Sometimes, cannot slew Litening TGP when designated and in GSTAB mode, when having an activated MAV and even when deactivating it the slew still won't work, instead some lines start appearing but no movement. To make TGP slewable again one needs to cycle modes back to GSTAB to enable slew again, so thankfully no need to undesignate in this case. Sometimes slew works while MAV is activated/selected (caged) but the slew behavior is wonky/stuttery.

 

5. According to the RedKite 2020 TGP tutorial, if you are in ATRK or PTRK and the TGP becomes obscured it will revert to GSTAB mode, it only mentions it but it does not show that on video, this is apparently no longer valid in 2.5.6.60720, the TGP mode stays in ATRK or PTRK and you are able to switch between them but not into GSTAB mode, FLIR label flashes on the HUD and a MEM label is displayed in the center bottom of the TGP display on the MFD.

I have tested this while not and actually tracking a moving target, same thing, except when the target is moving it loses it, but keeps potining to the static location while still in PTRK mode.

1 - when you first activate the TPOD (or any time it's stowed) you need to enter VVSLV mode to unstow it.  So you need to do the double press on the undesignate or you can press the VVSLV OSB on your DDI.

 

3 - normal behaviour, been that way since the beginning.  If you have a MAV selected, the FOV HOTAS switch controls it whether or not there is a DDI with MAV on it with TDC priority.

1 - Right, but then double presses keep switching between it and Snowplow mode, I guess they could have treated it as an "double press again to exit VVSLV mode" logically, but it's same as "press twice to enter Snowplow mode".

 

3 - Which is weird, because it does not seem to do anything in MAV because it has no CCD feed, and not having any ability to switch FOV on the TGP makes it quite a practical bummer, I'd consider it as a manufacturer design flaw if you ask me.

2. Hit tdc depress, with a losange symbology on tgp, you should be able to move the tgp around
