AMZ1999 Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 SO I selected the F16C as my primary aircraft since I am somewhat familiar with the cockpit and controls from back in the Falcon 4 days. So I completed all the training and am looking to fly missions. I loaded Syria and the Persian Gulf. I had expected to have a lot of missions available yet there are only 6 or 7. This will get old rather quickly. Any ideas on how to obtain more missions for the F16c? I am sure I am missing something, I just can't figure our what. The reason I am not focusing on multiplayer is I can't make the commitments these squadrons have regarding training and time invested due to my work schedule and family obligations. Any and all advice is appreciated.
Johnny Dioxin Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 Have a look in the user files section - use the search for the module based uploads. If you find something like the TTI you will have pretty much endless missions for the aircraft of your choice on the terrain of your choice. Sure I saw other, similar files uploaded in the last week like this: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3314899/ or this: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3311761/ here's various updated recent TTI: LINK Rig: Asus TUF GAMING B650-PLUS; Ryzen 7800X3D ; 64GB DDR5 5600; RTX 4080; VPC T50 CM2 HOTAS; Pimax Crystal Light I'm learning to fly - but I ain't got wings With my head in VR - it's the next best thing!
shagrat Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 If you are comfortable with a little bit more generic "immersion" but fancy more random targets etc. You may want to have a look into "DCS briefing room". It is an open source addition to DCS by some community members and is basically an enhanced "Fast Mission Generator". It is a separate tool that creates mission files (.MIZ) with highly customizable options. Not unlike the Mission generator in DCS, but with far more details and different Mission types from A-FAC for artillery strikes to CSAR, interdiction, search and destroy (Kill Box), ground convoy intercepts and recon... With the option to hide enemy units on the map and options for AI SEAD and CAP flights it works well for single player and multiplayer even if you fly strikes or CAS. shagrat Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 Oh, and as for Multiplayer, just look for Public Servers that offer Training areas, or groups that fly more casual. There is more to MP than just Virtual Squadrons. You can get in touch with people, find like minded and host your own session,as well. Johnny Dioxin Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 Yeah - if you fancy doing some co-op training in the F-16 I'd be up for that - I can run a server if required. I also just finished reading through all my old Falcon stuff - some of it is excellent general F-16 info - and am ready to jump into the pit and start putting it into practise. I remember I used to do training co-op with F4AF years ago and it was loadsa fun - especially learning the right way to drop durandals onto runways - though I don't know if the DCS F-16 is getting those (I hope so!). Send me a message if you're interested.
