How often do you upgrade your CPU Processor?

Once we got above the Pentium series, CPU improvements have been pretty incremental, avg of about 3-5%.  So upgrading less than every 5 years or so gives a poor performance to cost ratio. AMD has made some good leaps lately, but that hasn't been the industry average. Most efficient upgrade path for the past decade or more has been new CPU every 5 - 6 years, new GPU about every 2 - 3.  Due to health and financial issues, it's been ten years for me now, but new rig is on order, just having to wait out the current delays.  But I've waited 5 years, can go the 6 weeks OK. (Don't enjoy it, but can do it.  )

I tend to want a computer to last 5 years minimum, and like to replace everything at once.
