Caldera Posted February 28, 2021 Posted February 28, 2021 Hey all, I hope that I am in the right "Section". I trying to learn AAR so I am watching more tracks. Please forgive me, I am still new at DCS. I have a few questions: How do I turn the blinking vertical cursor on so I know where I am about to type in the filename box? To REPLAY a track file that is saved in another file directory (data drive) other than the DCS default directory, how do I change directories? When I am watching a track video, how do I pan the view using the mouse with radio text on screen? How do I clip / edit a track file to be shorter in time (less than 5mb) and to be more specific for the viewer? How would I turn on playback controls? (stop play etc...) Thanks in advance, Caldera
draconus Posted March 1, 2021 Posted March 1, 2021 (edited) 1. There's only static cursor as I see it. 2. You can go up a folder by choosing ".." so you can choose any folder from the drive where your \saved games\ folder is kept but you can't choose another drive. Keep your replays in the \saved games\dcs\tracks folder. 3. You mean changing views? F2? 4. You can't. You can only make a mission to start at a specific condition to show it off right away and then quit to save a track. 5. There are none. You can only speed up/down the time lapse (Lctr/Lshift/Lalt+Z) or take control from the moment (Esc>Take control). Caldera Posted March 1, 2021 Author Posted March 1, 2021 draconus, Thanks again! 2 hours ago, draconus said: 3. You mean changing views? F2? Yes, sort of. This mouse seems to not work at all if there is radio text (F key options) on screen in the F2 view. When I move the mouse it hides in the top left corner of the screen. Normally, moving the mouse pans the view. I don't think that I can select any view other than the one that is currently active at the time when the radio text comes on screen. The keyboard seems to be disabled as far as changing the view with an F key. Caldera
Caldera Posted March 2, 2021 Author Posted March 2, 2021 draconus, I have misspoke, only the mouse seems to be effected. Caldera
draconus Posted March 2, 2021 Posted March 2, 2021 It probably should not do that in the replay - no point in selecting anything with a mouse then. It's not a problem though when you can look around with TrackIR. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
Caldera Posted March 2, 2021 Author Posted March 2, 2021 draconus, Try it. The F2 view is pretty restrictive even with TrackIR. Caldera
draconus Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 OK, I know what you mean. It's the same during a game. You can still use num-pad arrows to pan around and / * keys to zoom in/out when the mouse is not working.
