Sylosis Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 (edited) At last there is a campaign for the F-5 I thought (apart from the BFM ones, which I find quite boring). But then, why would you pick Krymsk as the base of operation, when it's one of the few with no TACAN beacon (RSBN only). Meaning you essentially can't navigate the F-5 for the campaign. It's even part of the mission briefing, what RSBN to use.... but it's an F_5 campaign...!? Am I not getting something, or are there other people who think the same? SorelRo Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 Hi, easiest way to talk about this campaign is to post here: https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/801-sorelro/ As for why Krymsk is because pretty much all the campaigns in the Caucasus map are giving you a scenario with Red in the North and Blue in the South, that scenario never showcased the North side of the Caucasus map. That's why Krymsk and Krasnodar. Also, if you read the description of the campaign this is a quick reaction force, and, in USSR in the late 70's there were no navigational aids, so one of the challenges of this campaign is to navigate with a compass and a map, you will get some help from HUMMER and also, you can get some help from your RWR, you can use the HAWK batteries that are defending the airports to guide you home. Cheers,
