wilbur81 Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 (edited) Hey, guys. I received my WinWing T/O panel last week (shipping wait wasn't too bad, really). I'm honestly a little disappointed with it. Firstly, it came missing one of the silver button head screws right on the front, leaving a little hole right by the "Flap" light. After a little gentle wrangling I convinced them to send me a screw free of charge (no confirmation yet that it was sent but I trust they'll get it to me). Secondly, I'm a little concerned about the wiring setup on the gear handle. You can clearly see it exposed when you look in and it gives me flashbacks to my Saitek X-55 (Rhino-owners will know what I mean ). The wires appear to be hot-glued into the lever stem and they move with the lever. Nothing about this is necessarily a problem, but the wiring looks pretty thin so I'm wondering how much the motion is going to break things down in a hurry? Lastly, and this is actually my biggest disappointment: The panel backlighting is pretty uneven. My pictures here aren't great quality, but if you are looking at my panel in person, the "Turn Right" parking brake light looks like something is blocking the light coming through and the "Hook Bypass," "Wing Fold," and "BRK" next to "Park" lights are quite a bit brighter than the other lights which looks kind of cheap. None of these things are necessarily a huge deal, but if this had been an Amazon.com purchase with free returns, I wouldn't hesitate to return this panel in order to get one without the issues mentioned above. Does anyone else have any of the uneven lighting on their panels or the visible wiring in the gear handle? I should note that I have the lighting set at "6" in the SimappPro settings... if you max out the lighting, it becomes a bit more uniform, but is then WAY too bright... particularly for a night flight. Thanks, in advance, for any feedback you may have. Overall, Winwing has done us DCS Hornet simmers a HUGE favor with their really cool products! I love their work...just kind of disappointed in the particular unit I received. First-world-'problems' Edited March 22, 2021 by wilbur81 i7 8700K @ Stock - Win11 64 - 64gb RAM - RTX 3080 12gb OC
Josh3945 Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 You can get inside it an move the wire. I’m pretty sure it’s not supposed to be there cause it’s not on mine
Dudikoff Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 I can see two black wires on the left side when the handle is all the way down, but I don't notice it TBH. i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg.
