Bobstar Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Dear All, Having taken the plunge into VR over the last week and taking delivery of my G2 headset I have, after plenty of blood and toil got my VR experience up and runny and to be fair I'm pretty happy with it but, one question for you VR gurus out there. Whilst wearing my G2 goggles I can see a black area around the edge of my vision. After extensively trawling 'The YouTubes' I came across a potential fix for this but, the file that I'm supposed to have in my directory does not exist that could possible increase the 'mask size' area and remove the 'black area'? The 'black' area also exists whilst in WMR so, it's not just a DCS thing. Questions, is this a thing that you have to live with or can it be removed? Or, has this file only appear once you've installed the Shaders mod? All comments appreciated.
speed-of-heat Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Congratulations ! If it appears in WMR then its nothing to do with the shaders MOD. could you reference, the "fix" and or file that you are meant to change ? i dont recognise the problem specifically? Bobstar Posted March 23, 2021 Author Posted March 23, 2021 Hi, thanks for the reply. The file is in DCS directory/Bazar/shaders/deffered/_HMD.HLSL The you tube ref is DCS: VR Optimization (2.5.6.60) by Lukas S / Wolta he talks about what I believe the issue could be in section 1, under the shaders mod item. forgive me if I'm talking rubbish here but, it's been a bit of a baptism by fire!
speed-of-heat Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 if you dont have _HMD.HLSL you have in that directory you have not correctly installed the shaders mod. the shaders mod only impacts DCS, so if you get it in WMR it is not the shaders mod ...
