DarkStar79 Posted April 17, 2021 Posted April 17, 2021 So is the hotspot detector working at night? I cant get it to work?
DarkStar79 Posted April 18, 2021 Author Posted April 18, 2021 Does the hotspot detector work for you guys at night?Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk
Rapax Posted April 18, 2021 Posted April 18, 2021 Works for me , I see the inverted chevrons at night
DarkStar79 Posted April 18, 2021 Author Posted April 18, 2021 Hm really strange. Have to test again.Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk
Harlikwin Posted May 3, 2021 Posted May 3, 2021 I mean it should, and it should have fewer false targets. New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1) Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really).

Off-topic, but please remember that it is not a hotspot detector. It is a thermal cuer where your task as a pilot is to analyze the terrain, the time of day, the weather and program the thermal cuer to point you the wanted heat levels, sizes and their relation to environment. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
JIGGAwest Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 It works at night for me. I don't know the effective range. But lower altitudes seem the only viable option at the moment when looking for ground targets. I had one instance where it was not working at all. I deleted the aircraft and ran a dcs repair and it was fixed. But this was a few updates ago.

Effective maximum range is moisture and temperature dependent, as well your programmed thermal scale value and sizes. The Normal setting gives cues from 2 km slant range front of plane to 0.5 degree above horizon. The Extended setting gives cues from 1 km slant range front of plane to 0.5 degree above horizon. The Full setting gives from 1 km slant range to 90 degree upwards, so whole sky area. 1 i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.

As that is what we should get when the new FLIR system finally drops to DCS. As the cuer is just part of the FLIR system, so range limitations are based to it. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
Mivina Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 It works fine for me. Great even, you can see stuff behind hills. This won me a dogfight once or twice
