Tholozor Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 PLBK is the HARM Pullback mode, Wags describes it in this video: REAPER 51 | Tholozor VFA-136 (c.2007): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305981/ Arleigh Burke Destroyer Pack (2020): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3313752/
v81 Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 Should this be appearing whilst actually trying to use HARMS in TOO mode? It's quite annoying trying to switch between and handoff targets only to have the HARM display replaced with PLBK R7 3800X - 32Gig RAM -- All SSD -- GTX1070 -- TM Warthog, MFG Crosswinds & TiR
Tholozor Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 Yes, the PLBK/HARM cue will be present on the HARM page and HUD when the pullback condition is met. maxTRX Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 I remember using 'another' sim with HARM SP acting a bit differently. When OVRD was boxed, the behavior was similar to what we have here. (although I haven't checked every display config yet) When OVRD was not boxed, as soon as the tracking radar(s) or missile(s) had a lock on my jet, the pullback mode was activated. Regardless of current weapon/ master mode selected the pullback would bring HARM's SP display on LDDI and EW display on RDDI. If multiple critical threats were present, the HARM/RAID switch was used to cycle through them. EW display would show these threats not HARM's SP page. The only requirement to launch the HARM was master arm on. No need to switch master modes. If the current mode was A/A and the Amraam was ready to launch, when all of a sudden the SAM started tracking me, I could still fire the Amraam in spite of HARM's SP displays popping up on my DDIs and almost simultaneously fire off the HARM. Whenever ground threats were suppressed, the SP displays would vanish and I continue with whatever I was doing. The reason why most people used OVRD was pretty obvious when lining up on a ground target, second or two from pressing release button and all of a sudden SP displays popped up. With OVRD boxed, I had enough time to finish the primary mission, unbox the HARM OVRD and fire the HARM. Also, in most A/A scenarios the pullback might not be needed, with bandits in close proximity. BTW, I noticed we can't unbox the HARM OVRD (at least I couldn't) when in A/A mode. I had to to switch to A/G > HARM SP then unbox it.
