The following aircraft are all operated by a private company Thunder City based at Cape Town International Airport. They own the largest collection of privetly owned military aircraft including 4 Hawker Hunters, 2 Lighnings, 2 Bucceneers. These lightnings are the only ones still flying today.

They were even kind enough to break the sound barrier for us albeit at 20 000 ft to avoid any windows breaking.

The Lightning going inverted for us. Something that was quite intresting was that he was only using one engine through the entire display and we were told that he had his throttles just above idle, some power, and when they where going to break the sound barrier he mistankinly broke it while he was doing an almost 90 degree climb to 20 000 ft.

Cool pics and info about the Lightning. What a beast. Would like to see a race to 40,000 feet against an F-15.

Was wondering where the Rooivalk was, then I watched your video.

Thanks for sharing.
