MAXsenna Posted September 11, 2022 Posted September 11, 2022 @85th_Maverick Are you running out of "troll food" yet? I hope so. Anyway. I support the request. I believe it's a good idea, and should definitely be in when they release MAC. On the other hand. Does anyone knows what an "Xbox" controller goes for these days? I got a second hand Xbox One for free, with a seat I bought so I don't know. If MAC is supposed to be the stepping stone to draw new users into DCS, I believe this request and super support for console controllers will be important. Like what @cfragwrote. These are the typical controllers new users already have. And that's an important observation. Cheers!
SharpeXB Posted September 11, 2022 Posted September 11, 2022 I can’t believe I’m going to offer a suggestion on a topic that’s nuts. But… What this control really needs would be a Toggle vs Hold modifier as neither option is workable in every situation. In a sustained turn, for example, you’d need keep pitch up key held down continually if it returned to center. Then there are maneuvers where self-centering might be desirable like a simple climb or descent. Of course you’d still need three hands to do all this without your fingers getting tangled i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5

Indeed that for constant turn rates you'd rather like the constantly held input variant that we have now, but you can see that even with an ON/OFF variant you can still wobble rather nicely around the desired AoA. I'm saying this from experience of more than 2 decades of flying flight sims. It's no to hard to do it, but yes, if you could have a sort of input mode toggle button you can switch between modes during flight, and again..., that's not a painful task at all, it's just a thing of wanting to do it or not! Hmm, I don't see needing 3 hands (LOL) in order to toggle it. What would be so hard to reach for a key combo? Edited September 25, 2022 by 85th_Maverick Good knowledge and common sense make the absurd run for defense. Flying has always been a great interest for mankind, yet learning everything about it brought the greatest challenge!

But in all that time you haven’t managed to acquire a joystick? Your request simply points out how a keyboard just doesn’t work well for an axis control like this. Have you ever tried a joystick or gamepad?
