Donut Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 The external lighting, specifically the anti-collision lights still seem extremely dim and virtually useless currently. Are there plans to improve on their brightness and visibility, to be more in line with the lighting seen in the Hornet and Viper? 1 i5 7600K @4.8GHz | 1080 Ti | 32GB 3200MHz | SSD | DCS SETTINGS | "COCKPIT"
Rinz1er Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 I have noticed this too. I can also say that compared to the f18, the formation light strips are basically non-existent when viewing the plane from further than 25 yards. 1
REDEYE_CVW-66 Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 They did tune it some time ago, but it still has problems. One of them is, as you can see the AC at night approaching the carrier, the light are not visible in the platcam, and also, they lights get dimmer as they get closer (As they LOD switches). So yeah, light needs tuning for sure. 1
Diesel_Thunder Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 (edited) I had a hard time on a night mission recently in MP. Friend of mine was in the Tomcat, where I was in a Hornet. He could see me fairly easily, while I had a very hard time finding his lights, unless very close to him. He had launched from the boat a few minutes before I did, and I couldn't find him at all to join in formation, even with relative bearing calls. He eventually joined on me as he could readily see my lights Edited May 11, 2021 by Diesel_Thunder 2 PC: MSI X670E, Ryzen 9 7900X, 64GB DDR5 RAM, RTX 3090 Ti, TM Warthog HOTAS, Saitek Pro Flight pedals, Opentrack Link to my Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/DieselThunderAviation Commander, 62nd Virtual Fighter Squadron Join the 62nd VFS today!
