enemy ground troops not visible

After creating a training mission, I want to correct my angle of attack. When clicking Ctrl F5 (enemy ground units), they should be visible but nothing happens. How can I make it happen?

Hope it's nothing so obvious, but are you definitely holding the left CTRL button down as well as F5?  

 

Or just try F7 instead & hope you don't have too many friendly ground units

The shortcut to see ground units is simply F5, not CTRL+F5
