Shaman Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 Finally Google Earth like technology, merges with PC flight sim technology, and is changing the way civilian glass-cockpits and IFR rated equipment will be capable of: http://www.bendixking.com/synthetic_vision/ :robot: 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer

graywo1fg Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 WOW!!! it makes IFR flights easy :P cool stuff Voice of Jester AI Death From Above =DFA= Squadron Discord - https://discord.gg/deathfromabove http://www.twitch.tv/graywo1f https://www.youtube.com/user/Lonewo1fg
mikoyan Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 That stuff should be required on all passenger airplanes and especially on med-evac helicopters which have a very high accident rate some of then for flying in very poor weather.
Aeroscout Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Sure it makes IFR easy, but many of those systems (Dynon, Grand rapids, etc.) are not certified. Essentially, you may use them but you MUST have a backup that is certified if you want to fly IFR. Usually that's the double needle steam gauge instrument but I have seen a glass one. (a lot smaller then these EFISes and without synthetic vision) These EFIS things are very cool though. Most newer planes have them. @Hajduk: I know what you mean. It's amazing to see home many kinds there are. You walk out of the place more confused then when you went in lol. DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices
Mugatu Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Yep I wouldn't wanna try and certify that on a Commercial Jet!! Lucky the FAA doesn't care how many private jets plunge into the dirt.
