WOPR Posted June 13, 2021 Posted June 13, 2021 It's a little odd that the primary carrier ATC radar rotates on the free CVN-74, but not the paid super carriers. The SPN-43C is the main radar used by the carrier for air traffic control. If it isn't operating there are other procedures they would use which are certainly not anticipated to be implemented. SPQ-9B is optional, but would normally be operating because it is part of the self defense OODA loop.
Northstar98 Posted July 8, 2021 Posted July 8, 2021 +1 Though unfortunately the only RADAR the Supercarrier is actually defined with is "carrier search radar" (which is a generic surface search RADAR), and "seasparrow tr" (i.e the Mk95 illuminator RADARs), but due to how DCS' RADAR modelling is it treats the Mk95 as having search capabilities, whereas IRL it's just an illuminator (FCR). Not even the AN/SPS-48E (NTU) or AN/SPS-49(V)5 (NTU) were defined for it.
