Shifty2805 Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 (edited) Hi guys, I wonder what the correct shutdown procedure of the F-16 is. After seeing the checklist which is included in the download section of this website (click), it states: "Throttle ... OFF". Which is okay. Now I found this video where an F-16AM model of the Royal Netherlands Air Force is performing a shutdown procedure in a slightly different way: (See and listen at 3:00 (3 minutes)) The F-16AM is most likely using the fuel cutoff system, then gives a bit of power to bleed completely out. Is this a difference between the F-16C and F-16AM model due to different systems? Or am I switching the DCS F-16C off in a wrong way? I hope someone can explain how this works. All the best, Shifty Edited June 23, 2021 by Shifty2805
DarkStar Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 Different engines on the jets, GE in the F-16C and Pratt and Whitney in the AM, so different procedures for the shutdown. A 10 sec "run-up" is used for PW engines before idle-cutoff. Best, DS 1
