Hi guys,

I wonder what the correct shutdown procedure of the F-16 is. After seeing the checklist which is included in the download section of this website (click), it states: "Throttle ... OFF". Which is okay.

Now I found this video where an F-16AM model of the Royal Netherlands Air Force is performing a shutdown procedure in a slightly different way:

(See and listen at 3:00 (3 minutes))

The F-16AM is most likely using the fuel cutoff system, then gives a bit of power to bleed completely out.

Is this a difference between the F-16C and F-16AM model due to different systems? Or am I switching the DCS F-16C off in a wrong way?

I hope someone can explain how this works.

All the best,

Shifty

Different engines on the jets, GE in the F-16C and Pratt and Whitney in the AM, so different procedures for the shutdown. A 10 sec "run-up" is used for PW engines before idle-cutoff.
