peirof Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 (edited) Hi, Is there any document where i can find the optimal parameters for release weapons as well as the usual mode? For example, the Mk82, the best way to launch them in CCIP, at a speed of xxx knots, at an approximate height of xxxx feet and with an Aoa of - x degrees, reaching a distance of more than xx miles. Something like that but of every weapon. Where could I find that information? And another thing, in other simulators, for bombs release... It sounds to me that there was another mode or sub-release mode called Dive Toss. I guess you know, it flew low, it sounds to me that the target was set with the radar, and the shooting computer told you when you had to shoot to start an ascent and drop the bomb ... At that moment you could mask yourself again with the terrain. If it was used with guided bombs its success rate was acceptable... But if it was used with Mks.... Getting it right was luck That sub-mode differed, I think, from the normal Ccrp, that you had visual aids on the hud, when pull, the heading, the angle a release cue... The F18... Don't have that mode or isn't it implemented? Edited July 12, 2021 by peirof
Frederf Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 F-18 has something similar to dive toss. With auto mode bombing the reticle can be placed visually over the target and designated. Then the airplane can be maneuvered freely to dive/level/toss release against the target with the same consent to release system as traditional CCRP. With mode AUTO and no target location designated, press SCS up to choose HUD as sensor. There will be the 12-tic reticle on the HUD. Fly the reticle to the target visually and either press TDC or weapons release button. Then proceed as normal for CCRP. Symbology to aid in lofting is probably something the actual F-18 has but it's not in DCS? I'm not sure. I believe one chooses the loft angle and the \_ _/ symbol animates to direct the loft maneuver when in range. If it is possible in DCS I don't know how. To the first question that is Z diagrams which I don't have. They would dependent on tactical situation anyway. 1

I guess AUTO could be used as 'dive/toss' without any additional symbology but... it would help to know when to start a dive to gain enough energy so, when pulling up from a dive with a steady G, we could expect the release cue to be there. Yea, we can create our own tables, etc... 1
peirof Posted July 12, 2021 Author Posted July 12, 2021 The only thing I see with this system, is that if the bombs without any guidance, when you launched them Don Dive Toss / CCRP, with the visual aids, it is already difficult to hit ..... then try a Dive Toss launch, without any help visual, the vertical line on the HUD, it must be a coincidence to hit bombs without any guidance
