Eldur Posted August 2, 2021 Posted August 2, 2021 The buttons aren't mapped. Triggers, Grips and Ministicks work exactly like with the Oculus controllers, but the ABXY buttons do nothing, whereas on Oculus they're like this: A - VR Zoom B - nuffin' X - Esc menu Y - Recenter VR Especially buttons A and Y are mandatory for me and apparently there's no way to map that manually. But I see a "VIVE Controller" listed in the key mapper, that has everything greyed out. So it's the wrong one and I can't map anything. Looks like that is still WIP, hoping for things to speed up a little though.
Bertcoin Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 Yes - I'd definitely like to see the buttons assignable as well and the G2 controller in the key mapper. I'll keep searching for answers for this as well. I definitely got used to VR Zoom, Esc menu and Recenter VR with Oculus, but just upgraded to the G2 setup for clarity. Now I had to remap the space bar to recenter and search in the dark for the Esc key. VR Zoom is on my Thrustmaster HOTAS stick, but doesn't help if I have my G2 controller in my hand.....
markbam Posted September 30, 2021 Posted September 30, 2021 Just switched from a Quest 2 to a Reverb G2 and running into these issues as well. Would love to be able to map the buttons!
Copprhead Posted October 26, 2021 Posted October 26, 2021 (edited) Are these buttons mapped/mappable in latest beta? I've developed an OpenVR driver that can capture and manipulate the controller position and controller inputs (using a technique called "hooking", it basically puts itself between SteamVR and the other drivers). I'm using it to modify the controller position and emulate controller input (e.g. mouse wheel = joystick y, left click = trigger), but the other way would be also possible (trigger = keyboard space, y bottom = keyboard F5).
