lax22 Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 (edited) About 4 months ago I replaced my TM Warthog with a GF3 Ultimate and I immediately noticed the superior quality of the VKB stick compared to the Warthog. However, recently I had some issues with the stick not centering correctly which is particular annoying in DCS since you can't engage the autopilot in the F18. Today I took the base apart to put in another set of springs to see if that would help with the centering issue of the stick. When I put the new springs in I noticed that there was some rust on the cams. Is that to be expected with the GF3 and is it sufficient to polish off the rust or do those cams need to be replaced? AeroGator Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 A good quality sharp and well lit picture will speak better than a detailed verbal description. However, a ticket at the local dealership is still better than all other remedies combined. There are different possibilities. a) what appears to be rust is in fact copper underlay that is the base of chromium electroplated coating. b) what appears as rust is rust indeed. Depending on this, there are different ways to reinstall your device in ranks. Either way it is tech support that will help better and faster than me taking guesses. 1 > Best Regards from VKB Lair, AeroGator
Wizard_VVS Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 (edited) I'd ordered Ultimate in July and cams arrived with that "fur". Traces of that are on the pocket. I've wiped it but what is it? fallout9 Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 Just some residue from chromium plating finishing. Was supposed to be cleaned up before shipping, sorry about it.
