Hi folks,

I'm on the market for a base upgrade, currently using the TM Warthog base and considering an upgrade to the T-50CM2. I've checked a few threads here and on Reddit and see mixed responses in terms of running it without an extension.

I do have the Monstertech mounts, which the TM Warthog is connected to, and plan to mount the CM2 but I have no intention of using an extension. This is quite a loaded question but is the CM2 the right choice for me, or should I be looking at the WarBRD, based on the fact that I'll be mounting without an extension?

The aircraft I'll be flying are helicopters and jets, not sure if that makes a difference to the base selection.

Just want to be sure before biting the bullet.

I've been using a first generation T-50 base without an extension for a couple of years now, which I'm fairly certain has the same deflection as the CM2.

I upgraded from a CH stick and the difference is huge. Eventually I want to build a new desk and use the extension, but until then it really is amazing without.

I also fly helicopters and jets. When I switched to Virpil I went from half being unable to aerial refuel to it being quite easy, basically overnight. Got it first try with the T-50.

Do it! 🙂

This all sounds good!

How is the helicopter flying with the T-50? My main concern is that I'll get the CM2 and discover that it's too stiff, or requires too much pressure, to fly helicopters without trimming.

I fly all the helicopters except the gazelle. I haven't changed the springs or any of the internals, and I don't use any curves in game.

The helicopters are a joy to fly. I can't really explain how good it is, but the stick is so accurate and smooth. There's no centre notch so the stick moves smoothly left to right and front to back. But it still centres perfectly when you let go.

The bullet has been bitten! Should hopefully arrive within a month.

Thank you, very much!

No problem. I'm sure you won't be disappointed! 🙂
