rapid Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Hi Guys, Just looking for some feed back really or to hear your opinion. I have an Asus VG289Q HMDI 2.0 and Displayport 1.2. DP = 21.6 Gbps 17.28 Gbps 1080p @ 240 Hz HMDI=18.0 Gbps 14.4 Gbps 1080p @ 240 Hz I have a 3090 FE I have both above cables at my disposal I use the Displayport Cable but someone told me to use the HMDI cable instead. The HMDI Data and Transmission rate is lower than the DP and both deliver 4K. Which cable would you use and why? manashttu Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Pretty sure you'll want to use the DisplayPort, as nvidia only supports gsync/freesync/adaptive sync through displayport (except on HDMI 2.1 like some of the higher end tv's). Gsync-mode is a must with the fps fluctuations that come with DCS. 2 Intel 8700K, delidded at 5.1 ghz, Asrock z370 Extreme4, 32gb DDR4 3200, MSI Ventus RTX 3080, triple 1440p Dell s2716dg screens, VKB Gunfighter Mk.I, Virpil M50-CM2 throttle, MFG Crosswind pedals.

Raven (Elysian Angel) Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 Yes DisplayPort should be superior to HDMI in pretty much every possible metric. The only reason to use HDMI these days is for consoles, or if your monitor is really old and doesn't support DP 1 Spoiler Ryzen 9 5900X | 64GB G.Skill TridentZ 3600 | Asus ProArt RTX 4080 Super | ASUS ROG Strix X570-E GAMING | Samsung 990Pro 2TB + 960Pro 1TB NMVe | VR: Varjo Aero Pro Flight Trainer Puma | VIRPIL MT-50CM2 grip on VPForce Rhino with Z-curve extension | Virpil CM3 throttle | Virpil CP2 + 3 | FSSB R3L | VPC Rotor TCS Plus base with SharKa-50 grip | Everything mounted on Monstertech MFC-1 | TPR rudder pedals OpenXR | PD 1.0 | 100% render resolution | DCS graphics settings
