dmatsch Posted August 30, 2021 Posted August 30, 2021 (edited) Thank you all for your hard work, dedication to your product and tech skills to pull it all off. As a fellow coder (C#), I can sympathize your plight -- ALL FOR NO PAY and the pure love of the game and coding/modding. Without all of you, DCS would be a big, empty sandbox. With the pleasantries out there for you to enjoy, may I please make a few requests for your new/current mods: 1. Test, test, test. Test the mod yourself, give the code to your friends to test, give it to your dog to test, THEN test some more. Make sure it works on systems OTHER THAN YOUR OWN. 2. Documentation. How to use your mod, how to install your mod, description, dependencies (WITH LINKS) etc. Assume a vanilla DCS install. 3. Mod packaging: Include the FULL folder structure in zip files so all users have to do is point it to the target system's root folder (game and user). OVGME ready, if possible. Don't make the user hunt for folders/files. 4. Test your mod again. Give it to your grandmother to test. If SHE can install and run, we're ALL good to go. 5. Congratulate yourself on a job WELL done. Like I said above -- all this wasn't easy. Test your code ONE MORE TIME, then publish like the wind! Edited August 30, 2021 by dmatsch 4 1
