Bog9y Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Whilst learning A/G deliveries I noticed that I was always ending up steep on my bombing runs despite turning in at the correct distance. I did a bit of investigating and noticed that when you select A/G mode the range to the waypoint indication on the HUD changes from ground range (straight line from waypoint/target to position right under the aircraft) to slant range (straight line from waypoint/target to aircraft). I was told by Harrier pilots that this is incorrect and that the HUD range to the waypoint should be displayed in ground range in A/G mode like it is in NAV mode. This will ensure that you turn in at the correct distance and not end up too close to the target and hence steep on the profile.
AlphaJuliet Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 It should indeed display ground range and not slant range. Thanks for the report
AlphaJuliet Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 Hey, Should be fixed, give me a heads up if not. Cheers, Alpha
