Could someone tell me what version no. do you have under dxdiag? I have (4.09.0000.0904). The problem is I had the same before I updated DX to november 2008 version. What really sucks is there is no way I know of to check if DX has been really upgraded.

On the next dxdiag tab; might be called DirectX Files; you can sort the files to the date.

You will see that the most up to date files are from November, 08th 2008

I'm not sure if it's the date of file release or the date of the installation I've performed.

As there are also files dated 2001 its the file release date, I think.

I haven't had Vista64 installed in 2001.

I'm not sure what do you mean. And watch it - political discussions are not allowed on the forum. I don't know if history is treated as politics ;) PM me if you would like to reply anyway.
