Better way to implement max control input at high speed?

Hi all, whilst messing around I was diving down at a fairly high speed. I noticed how the controls wouldn't move beyond a certain point as if the force would be too great to push beyond that point. To me in vr it felt very unnatural. I wonder if there is a better way to simulate this? 

 

For me with a ffb joystick I feel like this should easily be implemented with a higher force at the control limit (still with the ability to go beyond that and potentially cause damage).
