CougarFFW04 Posted October 5, 2021 Posted October 5, 2021 Hi everyone, I am interested to run DCS on a computer where I don't want to fly but just build missions and test lua script. Is the DCS dedicated server sufficient (i.e acces to ME and run mission in F10 view) or should I install the full DCS version. Thanks
cfrag Posted October 6, 2021 Posted October 6, 2021 (edited) AFAIK, the dedicated server has no GUI. Accordingly, I think there's no ME you can run on the server instance. You'd need the full DCS version to fly missions (that can be hosted by a server) or edit missions (that can then be loaded onto a server for running). You can install both versions (full and dedicated server) side by side, though. Edited October 6, 2021 by cfrag
Motion_Blurz Posted October 8, 2021 Posted October 8, 2021 (edited) Dedicated client will let you only host a single server/mission. As stated previously, the only interface you have is to select server options via a web browser. If you want to use ME then you'll need a full version through Standalone or Steam. You can run both Dedicated and a standalone simultaneously. Edited October 8, 2021 by Motion_Blurz
