Gunfreak Posted November 14, 2021 Posted November 14, 2021 (edited) So I'm just testing out the F86 doing dog fighting against AI MiG15s. But I'm having serious troubles. All the problems of ww2 dogfighting but worse because of the speed. Usually I lose track of the mig right after the merge, it's small, and fast and just disappear into the background. No matter how hard I pull on the stick or throw my head around. The bastard is gone, sometimes I find him because of exhaust or contrails, but if he dives down he's just gone in the terrain. Then if I play om veteran AI he just gets behind me and kills me off quite fast. If I play against trained or rookie. The AI usually just run for it and just tries to outrun or outdive me, without any interest in fighting me. Then comes the aiming, I'm bad at aerial gunnery as is, but can't make heads or trails of this gun sight. Even tho I understand the theory. Then comes the fact even if I hit, I have to hit so many times with my 12.5mm. Edited November 15, 2021 by Gunfreak 1 i7 13700k @5.2ghz, GTX 5090 OC, 128Gig ram 4800mhz DDR5, M2 drive.
[MVP] Mugga Posted November 21, 2021 Posted November 21, 2021 Both the Sabre and MiG present pilots with some unique challenges, just as it did during the Korean War. Both aircraft are fast and without tracking radars etc, a full reliance is on the pilot and his ability to maintain situational awareness. At first, it all seems quite overwhelming, but after a while, you learn and develop techniques to assist you in the fight. I would be more than happy to spend some time with you, if you would like, on the MVP KOREA 1952 Combat Server. We have a wide resource of pilots that can help you learn and develop your skills.
