popmaniac Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 Hi All, This is a problem I have with my 'backup' PC - main PC is running DCS like a charm. In my backup I had a very old version of DCS (I think 1.5) which I had kind of abandoned and last week I decided to re-visit by updating to 2.7. I have been using all kinds of tweaks for the settings I have found online, it is not the most powerful system but it still has a GTX1070 and strong RAM. No matter what I do with the settings, no matter what, still a few minutes in and I get a CTD, every time, all the time I am attaching here the latest crash log as it has been compiled in the system, if anyone has any insight I would be most thankful! dcs.log-20211120-102210.zip
popmaniac Posted November 20, 2021 Author Posted November 20, 2021 Sorry, only to add that all drivers / updates in system as well as OS (Win10) are fully up to date

popmaniac Posted November 20, 2021 Author Posted November 20, 2021 Thanks a lot! I see that there is a new NVidia driver this week which I will try and I will also try NZXT to see if there are any PSU issues So far, in other games, I have not identified hardware issues but of course one can never be sure
popmaniac Posted November 21, 2021 Author Posted November 21, 2021 Just to add a big THANK YOU here for the input in helping me pinpoint the issue. I updated the NVIDIA drivers to a version that came out just 4 days ago, plus I engaged VSync. Not too sure what did the trick but from constant 100% GPU load (per NZXT), I am down to 50%! And not only that but I have also slowly but surely been uplifting some other settings (I am back to High Textures) and adding incrementally other settings and I keep it at 60-70%. The picture slightly changes when I hit the fly-by view where I can see the GPU taking a much bigger hit but that is to be expected. Thanks again! 1
