I got the store reinstalled, did a SFC check, ran a couple of command line resets for the internet connection and Windows store, updated Windows, etc etc. I'm still trying solutions, but figured I'd put this here and get it cooking in case anybody else has encountered it. I'm still searching the forums here, too, of course, will update if I figure out a solution.
