I'm using a cyborg evo. I'm trying to assign the thrust function to the throttle lever on it, but when I try and do it in the sim, I'm given this huge list of joy buttons.. which one is correct for the throttle control I guess I'm asking?

Thrust when not in 'game' mode is automatically assigned to num - or +. It's a bit of a rubbish feature unless i'm missing something.

Sounds like you're in the wrong drop down menu. You should be in "Axis Commands"

From there it should look like this but with your joystick listed.

Thanks guys, this helps. (Sorry my Russian isn't up to scratch :) )

This does now pose a problem - First off, I'm terrible with manuals, especially very big PDF ones because I don't read em.

I see there's a command for throttle left and right there, presumably for the different rotors. Is there a benefit to having those mapped on the joystick rather than the one big throttle one I have?

And someone explain to me the difference between the collective and the throttle if they could..

Thankyou :)

I too have a saitek Evo. What you want mapped to the stick's throttle is the "collective" that's what you'll be using to fly.

The "throttles" are only used during start up and shut down. They should be set to automatic and be left alone. I have those mapped to page up/page down.

No, that is a throttle for the 2 engines, if the rotor sets start spinning at different speeds then you may want to quickly read the PDF and find out how to eject :)

The collective controls how much pitch is on the blades or how much bite they put into the air is another way to look at it. When you pull on the collective the pitch of the blades increase and they push more air. That brings us to the throttle. Because the pitch has increased and the blades are pushing more air then more power is required so more throttle is added.

If you were in small helicopter (say a robison or something) then the collective has a pitch and a throttle that must both be used. However BS is a military helicopter so the throttle is automatic so basically don't worry about the throttle, just the pitch. More important things to worry about then throttles it seems :D

EDIT: Except with startup as stated above then you would use throttle. Fairly obvious I prefer the winkey+home cheat :)

Thankyou :)

Is it possible to assign the slew commands of the landing light to an axis?

Good question! Maybe it would be possible to map either landing lights or shkval slew to the mouse on the X52 throttle. Then ther would still be 3 POVs left for other commands!

I have assigned the X52 mouse to landing lights using bands on X and Y axis so i can have a neutral zone. I also remapped in game command for the landing light with the left shift modificator because for some reason right control was not working well with my X52

Does that mean it is possible?

And what do you mean with:

"....using bands on X and Y axis so i can have a neutral zone"

Can you explain this in other words for me please? My english is not the best

You can divide an axis into bands (segments). I did this in lockon with one of those turning knobs on the throttle (I think that's a slider though, not sure). I divided it into 8 bands and then assigned the different HUD modes to it, so when you turned it, it cycled though all the HUD modes.

I think this is what sonic meant by bands.

Wow, thats a nice feature.

Where do I have to do that? In the control software of the stick or in the GUI of the sim?

You can do that only in the Saitek software. It is a very useful feature.

Hmmm, in this case it is not useful for me
