Electrically charged. Collective logs off or complete reset

Recommended Posts

Virpil, or the collective in particular, has a problem with electrically charged bodies.

every now and then when I touch the collective The hardware logs off and the software is partly completely reset = I had to re-enter the ID for all aircraft (30) in DCS from all Virpil hardware... In most cases, only the Collective logs off, but this time..

What is going on?

A friend has the same problem.

Could it be static discharge? Try to touch some grounded device (Power Supply on PC Case etc.) before going on your cyclic. Do this for some days and see if the issue persists. I had the same problem with mine when I had it on a chair mount and the chair is on carpet. Now I have the collective mounted to my sim setup using 40 series T-Slot profiles and I made sure they are all grounded. Never experienced the issue since. Just a thought.

Yes it is

and tried to always be unloaded, but it did not always work, so this was not a solution.

So I went searching and found a solution for the time being.

The contacts of this part seemed very close to each other, which shouldn't be a problem, but there's no harm in testing.

So I took my girlfriend's nail varnish and covered the two points completely to prevent a possible "jump".

and behold, since then no more problems 1 month, otherwise every day.
