FlankerKiller Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 Exactly what the title says. I know they did this, kinda, with the Hip so it's doable. Actually I've been editing these files for years so I know it's definitely doable. But unlike the hip let us choose. Let it go all the way from zero to one eighty. I personally fly with a sixty max and if I've edited it a forty five min. I feel like this most accurately represents the human eyes zoom for me. But literally every one is different. And it's a pain to set your zoom level at the beginning of missions. And then not be able to touch it. 1
SharpeXB Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 Agree, the default wide FOV in DCS looks too fisheyed. And if you alter the lua I think MP servers will reject it. Anyways that’s what I experienced last time I tried to edit that. Now I set the limit in the axis tune menu which works fine but you need an axis controller assigned to zoom view. It would be great to have an FOV slider right in the graphics menu. I think much of the visibly problems people have comes from using the default wide FOV which makes everything just too small, even reading the cockpit instruments is too hard. Something between 60-70d seems normal in first person games. i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
