Caldera Posted December 15, 2021 Posted December 15, 2021 Hey All, I am looking for a little advice if possible. Flying on my squadron servers (there are 2) my sound volume is very noticeably reduced. My guess is that the volume drops to about 50% (or less) of what it was prior to entering the server. This includes in game sounds, VoiceAttack, Discord and SRS. Usually, we have the mission brief on Discord and everything is fine. Upon entering the server I have to crank the volume way up to hear about anything. I never have to turn the volume up this high in single player. When I leave the server I get my ears blasted out if I forget to turn the volume back down. Any and advice is appreciated. Because, as you might imagine, I find this pretty annoying and as usual I am clueless as to why it happens only to me. Thanks in advance, Caldera
razo+r Posted December 15, 2021 Posted December 15, 2021 Have you got voice chat (of DCS) enabled? If yes, turn it off. 1
Caldera Posted December 16, 2021 Author Posted December 16, 2021 Razo, Yes I did. I will turn it off and test. You must think that could be the issue? Caldera
razo+r Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 It was/is the issue for me. Turning it off stopped getting the volume decreased (while DCS was running)
Caldera Posted December 17, 2021 Author Posted December 17, 2021 Razo, I think that was my problem as well. Thanks, Caldera
Thunk Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 I'm a little late to the party, but would like to add: I had a similar problem and the same fix worked as well. In MP, with two people on the server, all was fine. but as soon as a 3rd person joined, my headset volume dropped to like 30% for both Discord and in-game headset sounds. I found this thread, disabled DCS VR Chat, restarted and all is fine again.
