Mission 5 A2A TCN

After the destruction of two mine boats, it is proposed to refuel. I contact the tanker with F10, select TCN - ON and enter 10x in AA mode. There is no TCN symbol on the HSI screen, the tanker letter TKR is displayed in the upper left corner HSI, but the time and distance to it are zero. Tried it several times. Radio communication with the tanker is working. This is optional, but I would like to try refueling at night.

Assume you have boxed the Tacan on your HSI so you are no longer using the way point.

Have you got a direction and distance on your HUD

Have you tried increasing the scale of the HSI

I tried it again today. Here are screenshots.
This is an attempt to locate a tanker.

 

This is the ABE takan. Everything is fine here.

 

The campaign is good, atmospheric, I like everything !!! Maybe I'm just doing something wrong with this A2A?

P.S

As a result, I accidentally saw the tanker visually through my night vision device. However, all my approaches to the left and right baskets ended in nothing. The baskets just didn't connect. I have done many approaches to both the left basket and the right. The right one immediately gives the command "breakaway". The left one just won't connect.

Okay, well )) I'll do it another time. I still need to deal with the phantoms in Mission 6 !!

I will check it out this end and get back to you. 
To clarify in the campaign when you do not have a wingman you need to basket on the port or left side only. When you have a wingman he will basket port or left side and you can only basket starboard or right side.

I assume you have called pre contact and he has cleared you to connect to the basket.

Finally the tanker very often calls breakaway it is very sensitive. Just ignore this totally and carry on with your connection.

I think this is a problem with the new beta patch 2.7.9.17830. The fact is that the TСN for the ARCO tanker from the 6th mission works in a similar way. ED broke something )). I'll try to return the old version of the beta tonight. Then I will write the result.

Just been looking at it. I think you may well be right. I will have to look into it  see if there is a work round.

EDIT: Just set up simple mission and Tacan does not seem to be working correctly with Tankers. Checking with ED.

EDIT: A work round at the moment is not to select AA on the Tacan.

I confirm that in 2.7.8.16140 a2a works fine, and in 2.7.9.17830 it is broken. At night a2a is fun! Thanks for good job! I will complete this campaign and will happily buy Serpent Head / Serpent Head 2

Glad your enjoying the campaigns that’s what it’s all about.

Serpent’s Head is free. (6 missions, voices are generated in this first one). The idea Is that Ford’s story continues through all three campaigns starting with Serpent’s Head through Serpent’s Head 2 and then Rise of the Persian Lion. The next campaign will continue from the end of the current campaign.
